Overview
This privacy policy covers software, browser extensions, and services developed by Benjamin Olenick. I believe in minimal data collection and transparent practices. My tools are designed to work without collecting, storing, or transmitting your personal data.
Browser Extensions
PushGit
PushGit is a Chrome extension that automates GitHub's fine-grained personal access token creation flow.
- Data collection: PushGit does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
- Local storage: The extension stores your last-used repository name in
chrome.storage.localon your device. This data never leaves your browser. - Network requests: PushGit makes no network requests to any server other than
github.com. It does not have a backend, analytics, or telemetry of any kind. - Tokens: PushGit automates form fields on GitHub's own pages. Tokens are generated by GitHub, displayed by GitHub, and copied by you. The extension never reads, intercepts, or stores any token values.
- Permissions: The extension requests
storage(to remember your last repo),tabs(to open the GitHub token page), andgithub.com/*host access (to detect the current repo and auto-fill the token form). No other permissions are requested.
SkipVid
SkipVid is a Chrome extension that enhances YouTube viewing by detecting and skipping intros and sponsor segments.
- Data collection: SkipVid communicates with its backend server to retrieve skip segment data and process video transcripts. No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Local storage: Extension preferences and license information are stored locally in your browser via
chrome.storage.local. - Network requests: The extension communicates with the SkipVid backend API to fetch skip data for videos. Video URLs and transcript content may be sent to the server for processing. No data is sold or shared with third parties.
General Principles
- No tracking: I do not use analytics platforms, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or any third-party trackers in my extensions or software.
- No data sales: I do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
- No advertising: My extensions do not display ads or participate in advertising networks.
- Open source: Where possible, my software is open source and fully auditable. You can verify these claims by reading the code.
Third-Party Services
My extensions interact with third-party services (such as GitHub and YouTube) that have their own privacy policies. I encourage you to review their respective policies:
Changes to This Policy
